I am posting this because of recent conversations with modelers who did not know these 1/20th scale kits existed.

Dixon 2024 Indy 500.png

Newgarden 2024 Indy 500 Winner.png

Herta 2024 Indy 500.png

Larson 2025 Indy 500.png (preorder)

These are the current kits available to order; past kits may be available from third-party sources.

The tooling was made from Dallara CAD drawings and these kits are licensed by IndyCar. The kit production and packaging is done in the USA.

Kits include either a tree with the Honda or Chevrolet engines, as appropriate.

Plans are to offer a kit with backdated parts such as the windscreen to enable past Indy "500" winner models to be built.

Kits of road course IndyCar event winners are also planned for the future but no dates have been given.

The Dallara Indy kits are available to order at: https://salvinosjrmo...ections/indycar

Planned future 1/20 Indy kits include Lotus 38-Ford (multimedia) Clark/Johns Indy 1965, Clark/Unser Indy 1966.

Lotus 64-Ford (multimedia) Andretti/Hill/Rindt Indy 1969.

Availablility is "TBA" but likely before the end of 2025.

The Lotus kits are being produced with the cooperation of Classic Team Lotus and the Barber Motorsports Museum.

Somebody forgot to tell them that 1/25 is the standard Indy car modelling scale -- I have 151 built models (51 winners) from 1926-2010 that will bear witness., and about another 30 waiting to be built., all 1/25.  Then again, since they have the plans, scaling them down shouldn't be a problem.  Until then, sorry Salvinos, not interested.

There was a great deal of discussion about what scale these models should be made in, and two things were decided:

1> It is challenging to make accurate tooling for 1/25 open-wheel cars. The suspension is particularly fragile and difficult to accurately replicate.

2> The INTERNATIONAL standard scale for open wheel cars is 1/20.

3> The most recent IndyCar kit (Lola T93/00) prior to the Dallara was made in 1/20 by Tamiya.

Trust me when I say that this decision was not made lightly or in a vacuum.

Every IndyCar kit that Salvinos have produced so far has sold out, so I would say that they made the right decision.
