Godspeed!

We were just talking – very positively – about Ed last Saturday when we were racing at The Viper Pit in Thomasville, GA. Ed built the Engleman and the King tracks that are now at The Viper Pit and both are still excellent tracks.

In fact... one of my favorite tracks – the Kingleman that was at J & G Speedway in Jacksonville, FL, then in North Augusta, SC, and at Flashbacks – was a Tunkel Track.

Thank you for providing many, many racers with great tracks to race on.

Weren't there two Tunkel brothers who were involved in woodworking and built the tracks? Or did that change? A friend in a neighboring town has a four-lane Tunkel mini-orange in his basement. That track is built nicely and is fun to run on with both 1/32 and 1/24 cars.

I experienced several Tunkel tracks in the '80s; enjoyed all of them. Like Hasse Nilsson tracks, you don't see many around these days.
