NERR's final points race of the season is in the books, with champions crowned in the Coupe and F1 classes.
Two new F1 track records were set by Gary Clinton Jr., who had a very good day.

Additionally, overall season championships were settled and, of course, Dave Gesner won the Season 12 concours competition.

The event was held at Speedy's Fast Lanes in Solvay, NY, on May 3.

An even dozen drivers participated in the Coupe event while a lucky thirteen drivers ran in the F1 race.

Current NERR track records are in a separate post.

NERR will celebrate Season 12 with an IROC Enduro followed by our Annual Awards Banquet on May 17 at Modelville Hobby in Ashland, MA.

The Enduro is open to all, but limited to a total of 18 drivers. If you would like to run, please email davidpanich@yahoo.com as soon as possible.

Time is short. We would normally collect the race fee ($35) in advance, but don't have adequate time, so if you indicate you want to race please follow through.

If you have run in ANY NERR events during Season 12 (including the enduro), you are welcome to attend the banquet!

We hope to see you on Saturday, May 17, at Modelville Hobby for the enduro and/or the banquet!

A big THANK YOU to Dave, Woody, Dave G, Richard, Jerry, and Dan for keeping the fun going. It is a thankless job but so many of us appreciate it, even when we have a grumpy day LOL.

A tribute to mediocrity:

Season standing stockcars: 9

Only Coupe race I ran: 9

Season standing F-1: 9

Season standing Can-Am: 9

I messed it up with an overall finish of 11th.  I went to the Belmont horse race track on May 9.  In the 9th race there was a horse named Ninth Symphony in post position 9.  I couldn't pass that one up, so I put everything I had on him to win.  Sure enough, he came in 9th, too.

In the play and film "Amadeus", Antonio Salieri, a jealous and ultimately mad composer, declares himself the "patron saint of mediocrity". This statement is not a traditional religious declaration, but rather a sarcastic and bitter acknowledgment of his own perceived lack of genius in comparison to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Salieri uses this label as a way to cope with his envy and perceived inferiority, and to absolve others from their own perceived lack of brilliance.
