Can-Am on the Sovereign – 5/6/25
The MVH Tuesday Night Retro Series made its monthly trip to the American Model Raceways Sovereign to run Can-Am this week. Seven drivers ran in the 4-on/3-off format on the inside four lanes.
Can-Am Racers in Tech:
Once again, Cody Pare drove to an easy win, taking first place by a four-lap margin over Dave Panich. For much of the evening it looked like Bob “Woody” Hazelwood would complete the podium but after a dismal heat on blue he decided to give up on the race and help marshal. Thus, Dan Savage moved onto the podium, finishing six laps behind Dave and three laps ahead of Bob Blanchette in fourth place. One lap down to Bob, Jason Kessel and Richard Payne finished on the same lap, but Jason was slightly ahead of Richard to claim fifth place.
Cody was the only driver to post a sub-7 second lap with a 6.976 effort on purple. The second fastest lap of 7.250 seconds was posted by Woody, somewhat off Cody’s pace.
Finishing order, laps completed, best-lap time and best-lap lane:
- Cody Pare 99 6.976 PU
- Dave Panich 95 7.297 YL
- Dan Savage 89 7.406 BK
- Bob Blanchette 86 7.750 PU
