I have just finished assembling this little Lotus 23 Revell.

The white bodywork was repaired, and since I didn't have the broken part, I used another piece of plastic.

The repair is almost invisible, which is why I decided not to paint the bodywork, it was only polished.

The brass chassis is simply held together with a single screw.

It is now a very pleasant car on the track.

Nice save with that piece of bodywork. Another very good-looking brass chassis.

Nice save Regis, the Revell white body was what was sold in Europe and the orange in the U.S.

So glad you did not paint it. :good:

I always wanted a white one to sit next to my original orange one.

Fellow vintage racer and acquaintance John Weinberger raced a 23 often. He's gone now, but I intend to build a tribute car using a new Russkit body I have had for ages.

Regis4446 ,When you got it, flaunt it. Seems like only a few of us can/like to mess with hard body restoration. From what I've seen, your right up there at the top of the list.

The quality is not good but this is an early short film by some guy named George Lucas featuring a lotus 23.

This is the article where I ran up on the above clip

I took quite a few pictures of the 23 at several Watkins Glen historic races in the 90's. A lot of very close shots of chassis and suspension details. If there's any interest, I'll post them but, I don't want to hijack your thread.

to answer Niels' question.

It is also held at the rear by 2 small brass centering pins.

Thank you Marc for your proposal, but I don't plan to create a detailed chassis, it's too fragile for a slot car, and I also have many other projects, like many here.
