Looking for a 12" straight track apron. Preferably two if you can swing it.

I've never seen a Riggen in any of the catalogs that I received from REH but they would be fine.

I keep a straight carpenter's nail apron in my slot box for racing. I've used one for years. Lumber yards may still give them away. I doubt if big-box stores do.

But I think what he is looking for is something slot car oriented.

Closest I could find;

I am going out on a limb here, but I pretty sure Mark is looking for the small edges of the Revell track that make the track a bit wider, They are called aprons. :)

When I initially saw the post title, I thought aprons as the apparel item, but quickly realized as I read the text of the post that it was track aprons that were desired, not the apparel item. I don't recall what any other manufacturers called the width extensions of the track, but Carrera calls theirs "shoulders", perhaps to avoid confusion with the apparel item.

The work aprons were a hot thing at races in the 90's, but I don't see them as much anymore. Several of the slot car brands had them with their brand name emblazoned.

Yea NOT this....

This is what my Mum wore while cooking the Sunday roast . A pinafore or pini for short.

a sleeveless apron-like garment worn over a young girl's dress, typically having ties or buttons at the back.
  • a woman's loose sleeveless garment, typically full length and worn over clothes to keep them clean.

Revell made 3" straight aprons with a curved outside edge to put at the end of curved aprons.  Not sure they ever made 12" straight aprons.

Can these "track aprons" be user-made, or do they somehow snap into or connect to the plastic track sections?

I stand corrected-- there is a $300 Revell set on eBay that includes a few straight aprons.  Still, they must be really rare.

After a year of avoiding evil bay ,the prices now make hyperinflation look good; the TRACK aprons aren't rare just over priced.
ONE WOULD WORK

Mark- I would help you if I had any of these items.

I posted a photo that I found with a Google search so people would better understand what you were looking for.

When I was in the raceway business, I had several individuals come in expecting to find some sort of betting on premise.
