These two boxes of Parma FCR and Flexi 2 cars and Turbo 2 ohm controllers were gifted to me today by the “her” in the title who owned the hobby shop with her husband in Ocala, FL, in the early '90s. She said they had a four -lane Ogilvie designed track to fit their unique space that was assembled by an associate in the Florida area. I love the two sprint cars. And the “Bud” stock car is pulley drive!

Since I’m a 1/32 guy, I was surprised to see that Clyde in Atlanta was still hosting major races for the FCR chassis cars with the DeathStar motor.

I’m looking forward to getting into these cars. It may give me the motivation to drive down to Spartanburg, SC, to check out the racing there.

Fine looking bunch of cars. I would note that Clyde and crew in Atlanta have closed ASCR due to the rent going up.

Seems like you have got a couple of ESU model train decoders in there as well; Worth something to a user of digital model trains.

Just, if you don't know what it is.

Thanks, SlotCarsten. I just looked them up today and they are V3.5. Sticker price from back then is $140. I have six and since the late owner volunteered at a large model train display at the former station in our tourist oriented town, I’ll donate them to the club that operates it.

My wife steered me wrong on the hobby shop location by a few miles. It was located in High Springs, Fl , northwest of Gainesville.

Bill and Ruth were the owners.

Can anyone help ID this relatively heavy steel chassis under this pitiful wing car?

Mike, it's a Champion Turboflex, a flexi chassis.

Thanks, Bill. Unpacking these boxes was fun today. This is the assortment of tires I found. I’ve read you guys discussing the brands, but since tires seem to be track dependent I really didn’t pay close attention.

"Since I’m a 1/32 guy, I was surprised to see that Clyde in Atlanta was still hosting major races for the FCR chassis cars with the DeathStar motor."

My opinion is that the GCR/FCR with a Deathstar 16D is a very fun combination for either Lexan or Hardbody stocker racing. This combination is used in the annual "reunion" races which draw a large number of entries.

"I’m looking forward to getting into these cars. It may give me the motivation to drive down to Spartanburg, SC, to check out the racing there."

Upstate is a great facility with a supportive group of local racers. When you take the time to visit, I'm sure you will enjoy it.
