Can-Am on the Aristocrat – 5/20/25
This week Can-Am headed back to the American Aristocrat in the MVH Tuesday Night Retro Series. A slim field of six ran in the 3-on/3-off format over sixteen heats, running the outside lanes first and then moving to the inside.
Before the start of the race, we celebrated Richard’s birthday with some cake and cupcakes,
but, by popular demand, we didn’t sing. Thanks to Steven Sacchetti's mom for the cupcakes!
Once the action began, Dave Panich pulled out to an early lead while Rob Hayes, Dan Savage and Bob Blanchette were in the chase for the podium. By the change to the inside lanes, Dave held a two-lap lead over Rob, 142 to 140, with Dan another four laps back. Meanwhile, Bob was three laps behind Dan with 133 on the counter, Richard Payne was at 126 and Steven Sacchetti closed out the field.
After the move to the inside lanes, Dave stretched his lead over Rob to six laps to take the win while Dan completed the podium, well off Rob’s pace and five laps up on fourth place finisher Bob.
Dave posted the fastest lap of the night with a 4.226 on purple.
