This has been sitting on the operating table for about a year. I couldn't find the right rears for it By chance while looking for something that I can't remember what it was, I found the rears that fit the Dodge.

Always a good idea to have all the pieces parts before you start. First photo(A 1st for me).

I made a 5/40 adapter for my Hudy tire truer (finally). The one on top is the finished product. Considering that there that old semi-hard rubber, I'm good with the results.

Enough Blue Cheer and King Crimson for tonight. Tune in tomorrow for Hendrix and a mystery band (starts with a Y).

Must not have had the volume up loud enough. I didn't notice that the previously posted body was cracked and, to my surprise, it's not a '64 but it's a '65.

Changed my mind about what to play. 1975 Todd Rundgren on Don Kirchner's rock concert.
Top photo, highly detailed instructions.
2nd photo, top view (DUH).
3rd photo, NOW THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT! I'd say it's got the right attitude.

I built one of those way back in the day. Used the Ram 427 motor with a buterate '62 Chevy body. Ran OK, but couldn't run with my piano wire cars. But from a vintage car standpoint, this is a great project.

Thanks Dave, I've got a 7 pole version that I wanted to use but, for some reason I couldn't find all the parts among other thing. I'll save that for a motor thread.
The speed wasn't a priority. It was just soooo nice to use new old parts.
More to come.

Enamels on hard bodies & models look great because they provide a shine without clear coating. I haven't been to a hobby shop in ages, is Testors enamel still being sold or has Rustoleum made them available once again?

In my days, they were a dime. One $3.00 bottle properly thinned should be enough to airbrush a model car, unless you're painting something the size of Monogram's "Big T". I once raced against a car whose body was sprayed with a Testors white rattle can. At the end of the race the track looked as if it was hit by a snowstorm. The body itself was almost completely clear. I wouldn't use enamels on clear bodies except for minor detailing on the outside with red, black, & silver. Hard bodies, no problem with a primer.

Mark, I'm sure you were making a lot more money when you retired than you were 60 years ago. Back then I was making $10 for 6 hours work. A typical paycheck for 8 hours would have been about $125/week. When I retired I was making more than 500 times that. (for a 50 hour week)  That Testors bottle was 35 cents. (Still have some I use for small screws)  All things equal, that bottle would be $175 today. Inflation is inevitable. You won't gat a Lincoln Town Car for $5000.  :victory:

Wish I still had my father's 65 convertible. I almost got blown out of the back seat when he got it to 100MPH with the top down!!!
Billnh, it specifically states to use enamel paint. If that wasn't the case, it'd be painted!!!

I bought one of those Dodge bodies to build a police car. I didn't use it because I built the car with another body. I'm thinking my Dodge was a Harmon but I'll have to dig it out to see if it has a header card & if so, the material used is listed. I have a sister in-law Patricia, but she isn't involved with slot cars. A good enamel paint job will take weeks to harden unless you have a dehydrator to use.

Haven't painted one of these since 75 or 76. Not sure what effects the hardener will have on the plastic.
The Pactra bodies are

There made from people.
