They initially planned to use the oval purchased from Atlanta Slot Car Raceway.


That's thirty minutes away. I'll be there in ten.

I would fight it, that just does not make sense. What is their reason for not allowing a slot car business?

From a zoning perspective this makes absolutely no sense. A retail showroom and a hobby shop can absolutely coexist within the same zoning parameters.

 

i would try and get a face to face with the city planner or city manager.

Slot car tracks (but not hobby shops) are usually zoned as "places of amusement" which brings higher safety requirements, such as sprinklers. This has caused the unfortunate demise of a number of proposed tracks over the years.
