Hi all, my apologies if the topic has been covered ad nauseum, but I am after some real world feedback on the TruSpeed MT II HP controller, and I am curious to know if it would be a good fit for my application. I will be running on a club track with a Group F wing car from Mid-America, which I believe is spec'd with the 50K Eagle motor. The controller specs mention that it is good for up to 12A peak and 6A continuous, and is good for up to G12 motor (I'm unfamiliar with what this means).

Curious to know your thoughts. Thanks in advance for any input. I am new to the hobby, so please forgive my ignorance.

Truspeed controller should be fine with that motor. G12 is a Group 12 C can motor, considerably hotter wind, which will take more current.

Thank you, Wink. That answers my concerns on the compatibility. Does anyone out there have some experience with these controllers? Do they compare favorably to others in this price range (~$240ish)?

This might just be a case of have to try it and see, as I am realizing the controller preference is likely very personal based on "feel".

Several members of my club have used Truspeed controllers. This is on a typical UK 4 lane track, running motors from Hawk Retro to Group 12. The controllers are well built and reliable. Ultimately the high-end analogue controllers such as the Czech Pro 1,2 and 3 or the Latvian Kobis are more adjustable and some of them offer extra eatures such as anti-brake.  But the Truspeed is excellent value and I would happily recommend it if you don't want to spend $400 and more. Just one important proviso to add - the Truspeed PWM controller doesn't work with brushless motors. So if you want to try brushless in the near future you'd be better buying an analogue controller - maybe DiFalco or Carsteen are worth a look.

Wink, I think that's about all the nudge I need to give it a go. No plans on brushless in the near future, and I'm not quite ready to spend $3-400+ on a controller. I think this will suit me nicely. The Carsteen CS1 is currently out of stock every place I've checked, so I think that about settles it.
