JK Spec Race at Da Sano
#1
Posted 24 October 2008 - 07:39 PM
This is a restricted race, with the really fast guys not being permitted to enter. After the JK spec race, a warm-up race will be held for the racers who were not allowed to enter JK Spec, plus the podium guys from JK Spec if they wish to enter.
If you've not visited Chicagoland, you may not have seen Mike's elegant "staging" boxes with numbered removable shelves. here's the JK field all boxed up and ready to race.
As at the first Sano last year, we're going to try to post the race info heat by heat. If I can type fast enough, we're going to try to have each heat's results posted before the start of the next one.

I did take top and bottom pics of all the JK Spec cars but dunno when I will be able to get 'em posted. If I don't race at least one class, I get a LOT of grief, so I'm gonna run F1 on the King today, which is the first race, so it probably won't happen this morning.
The 30 entries for the restricted JK Spec race was, I think, much larger than expected. We got back to the hotel last night at about 1:30 AM and met for breakfast at 7:00 AM. I'm hoping we don't go quite so late today and tomorrow.

The bowling alley or Blueberry Hill?
If the bowling alley; is that busty redhead with the southern drawl still working there???

Since then we've been doing the free breakfast at the Club Westmont, where we're staying, as it is surprisingly good...
Just where is that bowling alley anyway??

Negative points - Classic "diner" ambiance (or lack of), tends to be very busy on weekends. May have to wait for a table. Small groups are encouraged to take a seat at the counter.
Positive points - Portions large enough for two people, friendly and attractive (if tired looking) waitresses, prices direct from 1973 as of last year, coffee better than average diner 90-weight.
