It is a Ted "Sundance" Coates replica paint job of the car that was featured on the cover of Car Model Magazine. Lot of steps needed to paint this body and I think the customer will be VERY pleased with how it came out.
Enjoy!
Edit: The name of this thread has been changed. I am sorry if the title confused or inconvenienced anyone in the past. However, all should be clear from here on out!

This car I built/put together for my daughter so she would have something fun to play with instead of wrecking my cars. The chassis is a Flexi of undetermined make, steel rails with aluminum body mounts. Motor is a Mura GP15.
Body is an Outisight piece but I don't know the name. (Ordered quite a few from Ron for the shape and not the name) The idea was that it would be retro enough, mid 70's, to be cool but with more current chassis parts and pieces. Body is .015 so it can take a little abuse. Have not yet received the wing set from Parma, however the wings... will be cut down slightly to look more like something from the mid 70's. (I think)
Kellie loves Horses and has three.... along with a Husband, a dog, three cats, three pickups and a bunch of chickens. (NO, they don't live with me!) That is why I choose to incorporate a horse graphic into the body paint.
Jeremy, her Husband, will get a car to (but please don't tell him) which will be pretty much a clone of hers except for the paint.

Let's Go Racing with Lee Gilbert and Friends, including a photo of Lee and Donna on the cover - plus the Coates body of course.
Jairus, there's not too much demand for these later issues of Car Model, you should be able to find one pretty easily on ebay.

These bodies are NOT for eBay, nor am I building any more pieces for auction. As it turns out there is just not enough money in it to justify the time spent.
The pieces sold prior were simply in order to make enough extra cash to attend Konvention. So... I probably won't be at Buena Park this year unless something drastically changes in the next few weeks.

Mine too! That little picture in Model Car Science blew me away. I guess MCS thought so too as they mentioned Dave Bloom by name. 8) BTW...killer paint, Jairus. :mrgreen:Nice looking bodies Jairus! I especially like the Brady Dynamic Porsche. This was one of my favorites in the late 60s & early 70s.

Your work inspired me to buy a better airbrush, and I am going to get a gravity feed one also. I dont think you need to worry about competition from me! Not yet anyway

Here are three of them that I have finally finished for three different customers. As usual the names have been changed to protect the innocent.
(The vents are not cut open but masked off to look like they are open.)
Ok, where is the third one your asking?
I have to do another pic cause I caught the owners name and have to shoot another pic... coming up...

Cool paint! That M.A.C. Porsche body was painted for me by the founder of Outisight bodies and former team mate Chris Burlew. But the colors were a bit different. It was not white but off-white with a slight hint of pearl chartreuse green (I still lose my lunch looking at it) with thinner stripes in red and blue.
But you got everything else pretty well!
Of course old B&W pictures with 2 dots per square inch are not helping...

Sometimes on the inside and sometimes on the outside.
The Superteam car... all lettering is on the outside. The Edo car has all lettering on the inside. Sometimes I do a little of both.
