I know some of you guys wanted to see some more of my hardbody cars. Just finished this one. It's the Corvair K & B never made in 1/25 scale. I used an AMT kit and a 1/25 K & B chassis. I had to modify the rear axle a bit to fit those big meats in the rear wells. The rear wheel openings received a minor massage but still look stock. Well, here she is. Joe

Hi

Joe, very cool. I have the 1/32...built, not in a collectable box. I havent run it in a couple decades. It got pretty tatty, and I stripped it down and was meaning to do a full restoration, and never got around to it!

Whoe! I like it a lot. Nice conversion and with a tiny bit of photoshop, you could change that 1/32 to 1/24th scale.... ;)

1960 Corvair 4 door promo body! I got this in a box of junk off ebay. The endbell was melted into a blob. I unsoldered the motor, changed the bell and added some weight. Everything else was left original. The original owner was a mechanical genius and set it up with a sprung drop arm. This thing flys around the track on 2 wheels and is a true crowd pleaser. I laugh my B%*#LLS off every time I drive it. It is one of my favorite runners. I am easily amused :D

How can I pass up an invite from two people? I looked it up and it's only about 75 miles from my house. I will definitely make the trek. :) I will have to get some more info regarding a good date.

By the way, when I go to Jersey it is usually to race the real thing, not these silly toys. :laugh2: Here are pictures of my SS Camaro that I stupidly sold mostly because I never used it.

Built by Cartek in Jersey. 540 RWHP six-speed, 615 solid roller, Callies stroker crank, ported and polished heads, etc., etc. Stupid fast.

I may go to ATCO Tuesday night with my friend who has an insane 850 HP small block Duster trying to get into the eights.

Pete, never had it on the track as it it had the original 10 bolt rear which surely would have exploded with slicks. I didn't have the 3+ grand handy for a 12 bolt or 9 inch upgrade.

Most likely would have gone in the low 11s with slicks and gears and may have hit the magical 10s if the planets were aligned etc.

Hi Joe, some of us have frequented Raceway Park in Englishtown/Old Bridge, NJ, closer to The Race Place than Atco. As for vintage club races in NJ, we will have 2 this month at The Race Place: Thursday night the 20th, Saturday the 22nd. Look under race announcements for more exact details, hope you can make it down! I too am a big fan of all types of hard body car building and racing. With enough interest, we can get a hard body class using H&R racing, Pro-Track, or Parma FCR chassis. Best, Glenn.

Joe ; Nice build it looks like you are going to pull it in your garage. :laugh2:
I did not know you were a bench racer. :sarcastic_hand:
All the stuff I did on my 78 Trans Am street car and the best was a 12.50 at 110 MPH
It was 7/3/04 and in the 90's (Hot) and the last time I took the car to the track :cray: Etown.
I know it would go around 12.30s in Oct,Nov .
Let me know if you are going to go to The Race Place maybe I can go with you.
Glenn or Pete any date yet for Buzz A Rama ?
I'll make sure to make that with some other guys Joe as well i'm sure.
