Pro Slot, TSR, and Bodies by Noose have joined the companies that donated prizes for deserving drivers and entrants of the Checkpoint Cup. We thank them for their generosity. The races procedures will be published today.

Please note: the raceway will open at 7 AM Saturday and F1 qualifying will begin at 8.30 AM SHARP.

Samson Classics will donate two vouchers, one for a D3 Formula 1 frame, one for a D3 Can-Am frame. Unfortunately I have not had the time to pre-build the frames but they will be built as soon as possible after the event.

Here's the kicker:

I will pre-determine the Main and the position in that Main which will win each voucher. Other than me, no-one will know what these are until all the races are done. I will seal two envelopes with this information and submit it to the Organizers before racing starts. The envelope for the F1 frame will be opened once the F1 races are done, and similarly for the envelope with the Can-Am frame voucher after the Can-Am races. What I will say about the winners is that they will not come from the A race in either class - you guys already win enough stuff. ;)

Very cool, Dennis!! I'd love to have a "Samson" frame to add to my collection! These are some of the "cleanest" chassis ever designed and built! And, good for the little guy that's not in the A Main is a great ide,a too! Something for everyone to look forward to.

The Checkpoint is shaping up to the PREMIER EVENT of 2009 - and it's only January!! :D :shok:

Would love to have another... I am lucky enough to have two Samson chassis, they're both excellent. I used the F1 last month on the flat track, loved it...

Someone's gonna be a lucky racer, and I'd give it to a C Main or lower... the A & B are gonna have the big boys there with their primo stuff. It's a little guy that can really benefit from a chassis like that.

Good job, Dennis. You're truly one the good guys in slots...

Wait a minnet here! I thought that "Ding Dongs" were to be the "Coin Of The Realm" for the Specials. I have an old sock full of money from my WESTPAC days in the '70s (Fiji, Japan, Hong Kong, Australia). Will that count as cash? :D

Ding-Dongs or soft chicken tacos from Imperial Burgers get you the "B" race motors. For the "A" super-secret-special-wound arms, add two Twinkies.

Yeah, I've accompanied PdL out to dinner before, too.

What I wanna know is if he pointed out to Sir Jack and Lord Rob just how unhealthy the food was during that meal at Goodwood!! :laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2:

That was Sir Stirling Moss... the guy who really enjoyed the private dinner was Rich McMahon, a former Chrysler engineer and slot car nut who was with me. :)

Thanks, Dennis, for the two chassis prizes. If you have a photo similar to the chassis you're donating later, I can post the photos later with the race report.

The CanAm frame would be either my King track design:

Or my Flat track frame:

That will be the winner's choice.

The F1 frame will be similar to this one:

Note that the prizes are just the frames, no wheels, motors etc.

Anyone know who won the bodies I donated? If so let me know so I can get in touch with them for the details of what they want. Thanks.
