I wanted to drop a line to let everyone know that there is now a 110 foot modified Orange open in North Alabama (Athens - Decatur area). Currently we are set up as a private club but welcome and encourage everyone to come out and race with us. We normally gather on Thursday and Saturday evenings (6:00-ish ;) ).

Currently we are running only Flexi-style stamped steel chassis classes (4" NASCAR) but would be willing to set up races for other classes if enough interest is there.

PM or email me for directions, details, and rules.

THANKS! :D

Shane, I love to run on American orange tracks. Over the years, I've run on a bunch of them that were located here in the northeast. Too bad I don't live closer to AL. :laugh2:

From my experience, the orange track layout is suitable for both scale and wing classes.

Good luck with your track and its racing classes. :)

Bill,

Yeah, I got very excited when I first heard from Shane about their modified orange, thinking it was the Dapron-resurfaced orange that was in Ray Gardner's Bullet Raceway here in Atlanta from 1991 until about 1995 (and then in numerous other local raceways until a few years ago).

But we figured out it isn't that track...

Shane,
Will you be running of the hard body, Ninco, Scaletrix, Fly, etc. cars? How far are you from Cullman? If the company I work for ever gets off their butt and makes a decision, I may be moving to Cullman this summer.
Thanks,
Charlie

Suggest you try emailing Shane at the address given in the original post.

Since we haven't heard a word about the place in ten years, I think the chances are pretty slim it is still around, especially since the last time Shane logged into Slotblog was on Jun 16, 2013.
