Jay and I rolled into Columbus about 12:30, after departing Atlanta last night about 8:30 in the evening. Stopped for a not-so-cheap motel room for the night betwen Corbin and Lexington, KY, and finished the journey this morning.

Lot of familiar retro racers are already present and thrashing away. I'll start up the R4 Racer's Rogues Gallery tomorrow.

The Chicago gang is here, as is the PA crowd, and a number of locals. And there are a bunch of good-looking, fast retro cars running around the King.

I can't wait until tomorrow, as the attendance is certain to double or better. If you're one the late-comers, you need to set the alarm for a very early hour and head this way, as pit space and practice time is going to be at a real premium!

Good luck to all competitors, and thanks to Cheater for the coverage.

I will be watching from afar, hope you all have a good time.

Results are unimportant...

Yep, for me the fun and friendships are the best part of retro but the racing is good, too!

Wish you could be with us, Dennis. We'll be missing you.

No, you won't. :laugh2:

You'll be so busy BS'ing with everyone else and taking photos you probably won't even get a car on the track...

Have a good time and good luck.

The track is fast (I saw Ron post a 4.8 with an F1), and my cars are sloooooooow (5.4s). What's the old saying, "Somebody's got to eat it"? It looks like I might be a prime candidate :laugh2: !

Wish I could be there tomorrow, I didn't tear anything up today.

This sucks. I was gonna try and come down Saturday early just to meet people and rub elbows but I'm on call this weekend. And that probably means I won't even get to sleep. Oh well.

Good luck all.

I wish I'd been able to attend, but here's hoping that some of the great guys from Route 93 who're running their retro program made the haul down and do great.

And if anyone sees Frank, tell him that I should've bought one of his chassis after all! LOL!!
