Anyone have contact info for John Sojak, formerly Trik Trax? Or know where I can get some sensors for the system?

Eagle Distributing has them in stock. I am attempting to fix a few, myself. I am trying to track down John for another system repair as well...I want to add 60 ft sensors to the standard harness. I have made a wire chart, so New harness could be made as well.

JOHN, call me: 630-414-6167 World Raceway, Melrose Park, IL :D

This MUST be a hard question to answer, OR nobody knows nothing about TRIX TRAK system.
Might be time to update then..

Thanks anyways.

Spares for these aging systems are getting tough to find. Try posting here for info.

The Drag Board listed above or Bracket 500 Message board.

Good luck, I really like that system when it's working.

The DB-9 readout on the DragTrax box is not in the Triktrax documentation that I have from John from 15 years ago. I know Adaptive/BetaBrite sells an adaptor for DB-9 to Cat-5 (6 wire phone) - but is that what you need? The adaptor that I got from Radioshack does not have the pins installed (1-9???)...

I am trying to answer that question myself on our new dragstrip.

I too would like to contact John, just for old time's sake. He has ressurected many used DragTrax that I had purchased over the years. Alas, I have sold them all.

Note the DragTrax is the only system with a true two-point staging system per lane and the computer is completely dedicated to one task, unlike systems loaded into a computer, regardless of the supposed extreme digits to which they can time.

I am negotiating another DragTrax that has many extra sensors and will make them available if I can complete the purchase.

I am looking for some help on connecting a DragTrax system to a 1040 BetaBrite. I need some help verifying the connectors. It appears that there is a nin-pin plug on one end and then two connectors on the other end. The cable we have only has the nine-pin and a phone jack connector.

Would appreciate any help that can get us up and running. Call Jay at (502) 296-6745.

I'm a new owner of a old DragTrax system and need a new plug for a sensor. Could use two sensors as well.

I'm seeing here that support for this system is not available. Any updates or changes?

I've got the DB-9 to RJ-45 adapters in stock. These are used primarily in serial RS-232 and RS-422 applications. I have no idea what signaling is used with this proprietary system.

Pins are on the lead wires and just need to be placed in the right holes. With a sample or good pictures I can pin them up for you.

If anyone takes pictures of any other connectors used in these systems ... I'm sure I can identify and most likely source them if I don't have them in stock.

My guess on the sensor connectors is .025 x .100 'header' socket type. Just a guess.... do they look like the ones below?

Thanks and no, they are more square. Three pins across one side and two underneath I believe. (Not with the track as I type this)

I think I would appreciate this system but I'm pretty much decided to get a new timing system.

mike,  All of the sensors were the same:  EE-SX1042  Infared set.  with a 3 over 3 plug/socket  Most of the sensors just got dirty.  One trick is to take the plastic cover off to expose the two LED and clean all of the glue out with ALCOHOL.  Cover snaps on/off, but be carful not to break it.  I have some spares, but no system to test it with.

John built all of his systems with the earliest of 8086 (pre-286) technology.   Still looking for my notes, I did get my system working and started to fabricate an LED tree before the owners bailed on me.  Do you still have yours or did you upgrade?
