Sully Asko's American blue King at 811 Pitstop. Circa 1986

It has been alluded to that this was originally Mike Tango's King from Nutley raceway

This is longest-running centre in Sydney, beginning in late '60s (I think).

110 foot Johnson Road Course
4.0" Lane Spacing
Magnabraid
Favourite track for scale cars in both 1/32 & 1/24

Posted Image

Posted Image

182 foot Johnson Hill Climb
4.5" Lane Spacing
One for the wing things and Flexi cars. Scale cars and old pro cars go great on it as well.

OK. In the first picture, the bearded guy is driving. Then he's headed for the loo(can). THEN he's headed back to the track. What? We're expected to figure out what happened in the interim??!?

Tell you what.... if you guys buy me a round-trip plane ticket and put me up in your house at no charge.... and FEED me(no small task! ).... I'll come down and RACE with you guys! Sounds like a deal to me! Whaddaya say?

Seriously, VERY nice tracks!

It is flat, except for one slight bank at the end of main straight.

G'day Tex,
Thanks.
The bearded guy was going to marshall his car.
 We'd love you to come and play, but, not sure picking up the tab.
Thanks, but we can't hijack this thread.
Check out our 1/24 scale cars here..
Our group has been racing these since '99, and I'm in my first season with them.
:)

Steve,

GREAT pics! The Cox cars brings back so many memories of a 12-year old in the distant past! And the Petty Torino...... the ONLY year he diverged from Plymouth and the ONLY year I ever witnessed a NASCAR race in person(Texas World Speedway..... 1969)! AND A @*&%ING CONCOURS WINNER WITH A #%$&ING ENGINE IN IT UNDER A @#*&ING OPENING HOOD!!!!!!!! Dood! If I EVER win the lottery, I'm coming down under to race with YOU guys! Excellent!

I think that the record books show "The King" driving quite a few Dodges, Oldsmobiles and Pontiacs.

Mr. P, I am interested in seeing this photograph. There is no mention in the book "Cars of the King" (Bongard and Coulter) of Petty running anything other than a Plymouth Belvedere in the 1966 NASCAR season.
