Here are a good number of photos from the R4. I was able to get some good action shots of the cars during the races and the same of the racers. Enjoy! (This is only 34 out of 87.)

The red headed kid reminds me of myself at age 12 working in the basement on my slot cars in 1966. The intensity in his expression shows how serious he is. I bet he is a fierce competitor now. Imagine how good he will be when he gets older. It is good to see young ones getting involved in slot cars instead of video games.

Tom, I don't know who that kid is, I've never seen him race but he's always there to help out with turn marshalling or anything else that needs done. Seems like a real good young man.

Tom and Pappy,

Thanks for the kind words about the "Red Head Kid". He is my 11 year old son John Donaldson. He comes with me to all of the races to pit for me and to turn marshall. I think he has more fun marshalling than he does pitting for me. I have been a regular at Tom Thumb since about 1975 and hopefully John will carry on the tradition because he loves the sport as much as I do. The friendship between my family and the McMasters goes back to the 1950's between Mr. Mac and my dad.
