I ordered a Scalextric analog set with extra track, should be about 35 feet when done.
I've read some articles about having a transformer for each lane.
My questions are, how does the second transformer connect to the track? is there a special power track section I need to buy? and, with 35 ft. of track, do I need to run leads to different areas of the track to maintain power throughout?...thx....tom

If you are using the standard Scalextric AC powerpacks with the Scalextric Sport Powerbase;

Plug a transformer into each of the receptacles marked "16V~".
Slide the blue switch on the top from "16V~" to "16V~ 16V~" (to the Right).
The power base rectifies the 16V AC to approx 13V DC (which is why the controller plugs are marked "0-12V").
If you are using aftermarket DC power supplies, you will need to purchase an aftermarket terminal track such as the one sold by Professor Motor.
Scalextric sells TRACK POWER BOOSTER CABLES which are PRODUCT CODE: C8248 that can be used as jumpers to parts of your track away from the power base. Usually connecting them directly opposite to where the power base is located is all it takes on a relatively short layout. Full instructions are included in the Booster Cable package.

A few weeks ago I raced at Slotrax. It is a four lane Scalextric track. Each lane has it's own power. The owner's name is Mike. I am sure he would be more than happy to help too.
