As you will notice there have been a couple of changes from last years race format. We no longer have Masters and Rookies designations. All racers are eligible to race in all four classes. We also replaced the Flexi GT class with GT Coupe. But some raceways may elect to also race Flexi GT after the Ohio Valley Series is finished for the day. Check the race notice to see if Flexi GT will be raced. We will also have Concours judging by the racers.

For the 2009-2010 season the OVRR format will be as follows:

At all OVRR events, F1 will run first, followed by Can-Am, JK Spec, and GT Coupe in that order.

There will be no more Masters and Rookie classifications. All drivers are eligible for all classes and all prizes and trophies.

F1 and Can-Am will run 3 minutes per lane, with 2 minutes between lanes on all eight lanes

JK Spec and GT Coupe will run 2 minutes per lane, with 2 minutes between lanes.

F1 and Can-Am will be teched at the same time and impounded until race time. Cars will be placed at the start line for the race with no practice time.

JK Spec and GT Coupe will begin as soon as possible after the Can-Am race. The cars will be impounded until race time. Cars will be placed at the start line for the race with no practice time.

Individual raceways may opt to race Flexi GT's after the GT Coupe race. Check the race schedule for each particular event to find out.

No gluing of the tires or track permitted. Anyone caught gluing will be disqualified.

No applying braid juice directly to the track braid. Braid juice may be applied to car braids only.

The raceday schedule may have to be changed due to unforseen circumstances.

There will be a maximum "pit pass" charge of $10 on Fridays.

Race fees will be $15 for your first race and $10 for each additional race you enter. Saturday's "pit pass" is included with your first race fee.

Check the race schedule for opening, tech and starting times at each event. Our goal is to get things started as soon as possible and run our events as quick as possible within reason. It would help if everyone cooperates by having their cars
ready to tech by tech time.

I vote for 3 minute heats in all four classes. The entry fee is the same and so are the cars.

Maybe I'm missing something. Not trying to cause any trouble.

What does everyone else think?

Hi Terry.

While I would, under normal circumstances, be in favor of longer heats, I think we would begin to run into issues with the races finishing up at a time later than the track owner may wish to stay open.

I think you also run the risk of not having enough turn marshals willing to stick around with longer races in the JK and GT Coupe.

Just my two cents worth.

I thought the whole concept of the JK Spec class was to give those new to scratchbuilding and racing a class to compete in with other racers of the same experience?

What motors will be used in the GT coupe class?

Will there still be trophies handed out in all of the classes?

Josh,

GT Coupe rules state Falcon 7 or TSR motors.

Yes, there will be trophies and/or prizes for all four classes. I'm just not sure what they will be yet. I'm trying to find something that everyone would want or could use. There will also be awards for concours.
