I loved the 1/32 Fly Capri Turbo slot car so I wanted to do a 1/24 Gaugemaster style version. I really liked the maroon color on this car and I like the simple clean look. Jairus built and painted the Interior and fitted the chassis and did a great job. Because the chassis was limited in movement he went ahead and made the rear wheel arches smaller in size so the wheel will be square inside the arch. I really enjoyed painting this car and I may do another one real soon.
I can't even imagne one of these on the road but this might give us an idea.

Very clean looking, Chris.

. . .and a half dozen or so of those chassis, the wheelbases should be close. . .maybe the start of the playtime fleet?

Bugger of a body for a slot car. Too many parts to glue together and get it robust for rough and tumble racing.
But great car on the track though.

Chris, very nice! If you want to run this car, you will need to upgrade the chassis to the latest tricks.

I love that model, who made the kit? Jairus what color is that you used on this project because burgundy can go so many ways like blue or even brown.
Chris did Fly ever make a Capri in Gaugemaster colors?

1/ Do this (the "advanced" method). You will need a steel guide pin.
2/ Get a set of these tires (THP2412).
3/ if not using one or more traction magnets, add weight.

Nesta, I did not paint the car. I painted the interior and fitted the interior/body to the chassis and fabricated the mounting. Chris painted the outside, detailed the wheels, detailed the outside of the body and made it look sooo much cooler.

Thanks Jairus, do you have pics of the interior? Chris back to you what kit and color did you use?
Have to say those pics are out of this world.
Nesta
Hi Nesta
Jairus has pics of the interior and the car before it got painted showing some of the mods he did to make the car work better. The color I used was a can of Tamiya TS-11 Maroon.

Thank you for you reply, I loved the color and the car of course otherwise I would not collect them? You forgot to mention who made the kit?
I don't mean to be pushy but it would be fun to know.

Up front under the nose, then on the sides beginning up front. The idea is to reduce tilting caused by heavy body weight.Since I don't use magnets, where should I start with adding weight?
