Have you thought of the obvious? Most of the plastic cars have minimal clearance. Why not take a chassis, say Ninco anglewinder, cut to fit, grind off most of it, and put a scratch chassis superstructure on TOP of the flat plastic?

Seems Chris likes the bodies down low over the wheels which means very little side to side movement of the axle. Not to mention grinding away some of the fender thickness for tire clearance while rotating (these tires slip on and do NOT line up perfectly so some tire rubbing happens unless I can remove all possible interference).
However, if anyone knows were to look... my Fotki account has lots of pictures Chris and I rarely post regarding his projects.
