I know it's not a historical version of a Cobra Daytona but it's what I wanted to do. Jairus produced this beautiful chassis and the wheels we we are using are "Racer" wheels.

AWESOME!

Two thumbs up! :good: :good:

That one is every bit as nice (maybe nicer) than the ones Monogram did a couple years ago.

Say what you will, Chris; you could call it a "hot dog weenie"... it looks GREAT!

Great work, guys. If the owner would let us run metal chassis on the 1/32 scale track at the raceway, I'd have one of these. Love the Cobra Daytona coupes.

Hi,

Have you thought of the obvious? Most of the plastic cars have minimal clearance. Why not take a chassis, say Ninco anglewinder, cut to fit, grind off most of it, and put a scratch chassis superstructure on TOP of the flat plastic?

Well, Gary, if you like that chassis then you will love the two more on my work bench that are just like it! :-)

Doug, ah... well, I usually don't show anything until Chris finishes and posts the final product. Those Cobras were built side by side back in April. I have done a couple of others since and now the two Ferraris (250 GTO and 330 LM) are nearing completion once I get the figitity little details like CLEARANCE worked out.

Seems Chris likes the bodies down low over the wheels which means very little side to side movement of the axle. Not to mention grinding away some of the fender thickness for tire clearance while rotating (these tires slip on and do NOT line up perfectly so some tire rubbing happens unless I can remove all possible interference).

However, if anyone knows were to look... my Fotki account has lots of pictures Chris and I rarely post regarding his projects.
