These three dragsters were acquired years ago from a man at the Toledo Toy Show who claimed they were raced at the Autorama in Detroit in the mid-'60s. The first:
is a nifty car. It has some kind of modified Kemtron looking motor, but...
Gotta love that contoured aluminum!
The next is also pretty cool:
Unfortunately it's missing its drop arm, and the motor is some kind of big, round thing I've never seen.
Again, love that countoured "body".
Last, is the sweetest of the three:
Check out the nifty gear-guard, and driven by a Lindsay motor!
Oh the work that went into these!
Oh, how do I know that it has a Lindsay motor? This came with them:
How many of those are around?

Brad, very nice and very possible as far as the racing claim. Best is to look in the old mags and hope to find a picture that match... and sometimes one gets lucky!

I'll take a look when I get a chance, but the only real coverage of drags was on the West Coast, plus the major mail-in events. Offhand I don't remember any articles on drag races from anywhere else in the country...
They do look kind of similar to some of the early drag racers, circa 1963; there was an article on Bob Lindsay in a 64 Car Model, but by then they were pretty much out of date, so that should kind of date these cars....

The red car is magnesium but the others are aluminum. Very interesting.
