Archive for Bosmeck's threads

As Bosmeck builds in both scales (1/24 and 1/32) and as he also assembles vintage kits as well as scratchbuilds, the placement of this forum is somewhat of a compromise. Not every car of his that will be archived here is a vintage 1/24 car, but why should that matter? It's more important to have a single place where this builder's beautiful cars and photography can be showcased.
I should also mention that Bosmeck's threads sometimes feature work by other highly-skilled builders like Jairus Watson.
No one else has posted such a volume of fabulous slot cars like Bosmeck, but there are a number of other threads I'm considering archiving in a single forum, featuring builds by people like Jean-Michel Piot, dc-65x, etc. Something along the lines of "Cars & Builds by the Masters". Anyone think this is worth doing?
Bosmeck will continue to post new build threads in the appropriate forums. Once posting activity in a thread has tapered off, I'll move it to this forum as an additional example of a wonderful body of work.
It'll probably take me a few days to search out all the posts that need to be moved here, but I'll get them all relocated eventually.

Uh huh. Yes. Yup. You betcha. Sho 'nuf. etc...
"We offer prompt service... no matter how long it takes!"
"We're not happy unless you're not happy"
"You want it when?"

Truthfully, there are probably a half dozen or so builders here whose work is prolific and to such a standard that it would probably make sense to organize them the same way. After all, these guys aren't just doing great work, they're carrying on a tradition and a set of skills that could be lost were it not for their efforts!

Agreed, it's time for a Rick Thigpen archive, too...

I don't disagree with you at all, but I'm not sure Rick's posting volume warrants a thread just for himself. There are 50 threads in the Bosmeck Build's forum but I don't think we'd have anywhere near that many in a dc-65x forum. Alas, some of Bosmeck's older threads have links to pics that are no longer online, so I've stopped moving his old threads into the new forum.
What I've been ruminating on is sort of a "Best Builds on the Blog" forum as a place to park outstanding threads of chassis and car builds. Rick, Steve Okeefe, Jean-Michel Piot, yourself, and numerous others deserve to have their terrific threads highlighted.
Another idea is to do a Best of the Blog forum with subforums for Best Car Builds, Best Chassis Builds, Best Motor Builds, Best Tutorials, etc.
I'm still thinking about this and will probably do something with the idea after the Sano.

... Well, Dennis, I'd put your work into that half dozen builders I mentioned as well!

Guys, when I alerted Chris to the fact that some of his older threads had dead photo links, he offered to locate the pics and to "repair" them so we could add them to this Bosmeck Builds forum. I know it was a LOT of work and he has my deep gratitude for making it happen. Doesn't surprise me one bit that such a quality builder and photographer would also be a very classy guy.
