Tony,

If they get that live video feed going, maybe your parole officer will let you race without the ankle monitor.

The parole officer is going on a cruise the week before so I should have no problem. With my new haircut and no stash, no one will recognize me anyway...

Hi Marty and TonyP,

I'm really looking forward to seeing you again Marty. And I'm also really looking forward to meeting you TonyP.

Hi Victor,

I have a wireless laptop with internet so I don't see why we couldn't webcam the races.

Hi Larry,

Don't tell anybody a 'Yankee' also owns and operates 'Slots of Fun'! Maybe that's why I get yelled at a lot when I'm Race Director! :laugh2:

All I remember about TOAA#2 was it was hot as hell, it was so flat you could drive from the airport to Floyd's place without ever touching the steering wheel, and the cockroaches in the hotel room. LOL...

Tony...

TOAA #1 was at Floyd's, and I remember you and Ernie being amazed at the STRAIGHT roads in Oklahoma... And yes, it was hot... #2 was at the place with the indoor pool in the hotel where the convention was.

Sounds like instead of placing 11th, as usual, I might place 22nd instead!

Looking forward to meeting all the weary travelers that I've read so much about. See you in Abbeville.

Hi Richie,

Call in sick. Tell the boss you have swine flu and the only place that has the swine flu vaccine is 'Slots of Fun' in Abbeville, SC!

Pablo,

Are you planning on sleeping in the bathtub?

Library, reading room... it's always been the same place.

I'm looking forward to finally meeting you there, pard! Pretty cool, you from Mississippi, me from Florida and we're both going up to race toy cars in South Carolina!

It should be a lot of fun!

Marty,

Bring your freaky deaky cars, old stuff, etc, and I'll bring mine.
It'll be fun checking the stuff out. :D

Maybe Don will let us run a "Run what ya Brung" Friday eve... I would love to race something weird for a hoot.

Pablo,

I'll chuck the boxes full with whatever I can put my hands on.

Since we have about twelve days until that Friday night in question, I know of two people that will have them with them. How about you building one of these and we can have some real FUN!

Went to 'Slots of Fun' this afternoon and the Lexington gang showed up. This is good because Dan is coming off hip replacement and Jim seems to be pretty much over his back surgery and sporting a new Can-Am chassis. Richard and Marty were with them getting ready for the 21st.

Skinney was also there working on a new chassis. He's now known as "nine and a half" reflecting the missing upper part of his one-finger-salute digit. :shok: Working on VW engines can be a dangerous thing...

Jack and Dianne (she of lunch desert fame) were there also but I think Jack has decided to concentrate on Stock Cars but maybe he'll change his mind before the race.

Pablo and Marty,

Both beautiful cars, a testament to vintage racing. Hope that we can get out to Florida to race with you soon, Marty.

Pablo,

I just took inventory and have the following in my pitbox and backup box:

F7 Formula Flexi Ferrari
BRM Toyota 88C "Southern Toyota Dealers"
BRM Porsche 962C From-A
4-1/2 Flexi Stock Car - Mark Martin Valvoline paint scheme
4-1/2 FCR Dirt Late Model
4-1/2 IRRA Retro Stock Car (needs body - TBP at SoF)
F7 Dirt Late Model flexi
NASTRUCK flexi
JK Spring Steel Formula 1
Flexi Indy Car
Oval track Womp
Stock Car Womp (Hillclimb setup)
GTP
GT1
FLA16D Stock Car
Ludicrous Womp
Group 12 stuff
Can-Am
Formula 1
GTC
Flexi-GT

Whadayawannarace?

Sounds like a plan to me.

One of my compadres, CMF3 is hopefully bringing along his 4 Widicuwous Wetwo Womps - these are 4 scratchbuilt chassis with Contenders for power and Womp bodies on them. They're kind of like small GTP cars. Run very fast, handle very well and are a ball to race around just about any track. Especially fun when folks are running very fast cars and you bring out your "Womp" and run laps with them trying to keep up!

Like I said earlier, I come out for the FUN of racing and "Slots of FUN" always lives up to its name.

Heck, we might even stay late after the other races on Saturday and have even more FUN!

BTW, I'm sure TonyP will want in on the old GP style cars! Ooh, I know we'll have the "Olde Tyme GP Championship of South Carolina" that weekend. You in?

Mill,

Well this might be your opportunity!

You can take a flight into Atlanta. I know there are some very super racers that live in the Atlanta area that would be more than happy to volunteer to provide transportation to Abbeville so you can race there with us.

I just checked on American Airlines. You can book round trip - LA to Atlanta for $318.

Heck, I'll pay your race entry!

Go for it!

If we can talk Noose, Jay Kisling, and Mike Katz (yeah, I know y'all (southern for "youse guys") have a race on the 22nd but we do have flights out of Atlanta that will get you back in time - just think if you were younger you'd do it!) into it, we can have our own little "National" event here in South Carolina!

Heck, if Mill comes all the way from SoCal, and Marty buys entry fees, I'll buy him a steak down the street.

I fully understand. I too have one of those 'understanding' types. Maybe that's why we're coming up on our 37th wedding anniversary celebration?
