Hi everybody!!
Here I show you an adaptation of the Monogram's Red Baron. The brass chassis was bought in eBay and it fits perfectly the body. I had to change the original motor for a smaller one for keeping the kit's seat.
Last photo is the actual appearance of the car with the iron cross inserts. I have not found yet big rear tires and I have to use the ones from the kit, that seem to be a Flinstones slicks.
Hope you like it.

Very nice.
But, somebody has their exhaust on the wrong side.

Thanks for your good comments! Norman, the one with the wrong exhaust pipes is... THE REAL CAR!!! It's usual to see how real cars inspire model kits... but the Red Baron is on the contrary. This car was designed by Tom Daniel as a model car kit, then people like Chuck Miller or Jay Ohrberg did the 1/1 scale replica! If you look for Red Baron photos in the net you could see how the 1/1 replicas were made with the pipes on the left side, on the right and on both sides. If you want to read something more about the car you can check this link http://www.aeclassic...niel/index.html

I like Tom Daniel's creations. It reminds me my youth. Tom is still living and sells some Monogram kits and different stuff, by the way.
You did a cool car with perfect adaptation of the chassis!
One day or another I will try to do a Bear Wagon ... One friend of mine, a policeman, will try the Paddy Wagon.

I recently talked to Tom about one of his slot car creations, the Testor Marauder. A very nice gentleman still enjoying toys as we all do .
