One of the guys in our club has been busy building a sled and a truck.
We will be hosting these pulls sometime in the near future.

cool, I'll have to try that out once I get my tractor puller working!
It ran a couple of times, then it ATE all the gears.

I have to RE-mount all the motors and install bigger gears.

Bob, I would imagine that if you are going to run a fairly hot motor or multiples of hot motors  to a stall there would be a fair amount of amp draw and perhaps a spark or sparks jumping in a welding type situation.  I have never seen slot tractor pulls but I did see a form of Gas Powered Model Tractor pull about five years ago using 1/16 scale tractors.
