Let us know which races you plan to race in.
In particular, we especially want "out of town" racers to sign in and let us know if they plan to race in the Jail Door race on Sunday (after the F1 race). For those out of towners who want to race in the Jail Door, but don't have a JD car, we can arrange a loaner JD car for the race, just let us know.
Please indicate if you're interested in the dinner after the Can Am race on Saturday. We need to know how many are going to the dinner in order to reserve a restaurant. We encourage all participants to join us for dinner.
Oh by the way, will your name appear on the 2010 name plate?

In this bright future you can't forget your past.
BMW (Bob Marley and the Wailers)
United we stand and divided we fall, the Legends are complete.
I'm racing the best here at BP but Father time is much better then all of us united.
Not a snob in this hobby, after all it will be gone, if we keep on going like we do, and I have nothing to prove so I keep on posting because I have nothing to gain.
It's our duty to remember the past so we can have a future.
Pistol Pete you will always be in my memory.

I will try to race all the events while helping as much as I can. And of course TSR and Electric Dreams will be sponsoring some of the events and I am working on 3 more sponsors right now, with one (a biggie) already committed.

Hmmm, Morrissey, Quintana, Vucci or maybe even Durkee? I heard recently that Rick works in the Phoenix area.

Who else out there is planning on running every race?
I know, it's quite a commitment and a lot of work, but some of us can't seem to get enough racing
I do know some of our regular racers have been building new cars for the Checkpoint, so the heat is on!

Jay had some Southwest FF miles that were about to expire, so he offered to "fund" my flight along with his. PdL says there is about an 80% chance he can arrange a place for us to stay (just not in his one bed-room trailer... though I suspect it has six bedrooms but all the rest of them are filled to the brim with display cases full of tinplate and cast iron models!) And I emailed Lenore to see if, as our fallback, we can sleep under the track, like was often done in the old days. Wouldn't that be Retro? LOL!!!
I'm looking forward to meeting some new West Coast friends (like Lenore, Keith, Steube, Oscar, etc., etc.) and seeing some of my old friends, too.
We're not yet at 100% certainty that we'll be there, but if Jay can get the flights booked later today there's a real good chance it'll happen.

If Jay can get our flights booked tonight, I'd say 99.9% certainty.
The pain is we have to fly out of Birmingham, AL, as Southwest doesn't come to Atlanta. Our flight out stops in Nashville, the trip back in Las Vegas. Yeah, the logistics of this trip are pretty ugly...
Now I just have to be nice to Mrs. Cheater, so she doesn't shoot me before Jan 6!! LOL!!!

Count me in for everything but RetroPro. I will be there for it, so I will probably help turn marshal or race direct if needed. Always willing to help out in any way that I can.
Hey Doug, where is the Cup Smackdown? Maybe the legendary Mr. Bigelow will grace us???

Cheater, it's good to hear you and Jay Guard will be at the Checkpoint.
I'm looking forward to the webcast and your experience with Ustream webcasting will help a lot. I can use the webcast as an excuse for not racing very well.

I have a couple of questions regarding the Checkpoint Cup race...
1) Is the "Retro Coupe" race on Friday "D3 Coupes" or "LeMans Coupes" per the 2009 D3 website rules?
2) Is Can-Am the only class that will have hand-out motors?
I'm really looking forward to seeing my SoCal racing friends again and also meeting all the other Retro guys!
BTW... You can count Greg and I "IN" for the D3 dinner on Saturday night.

If Paul is backing you, be ready for a long weekend. He's got about four or five cars for every class... and all good runners, too.
