Saw this chassis made by DRS today at Wylie motor speedway in Wylie, TX. It's the same size as a sprint plus chassis.

Neat idea for the front suspension. I wonder if this chassis is available in kit form, if it's still available?

Very nice! I love Sprints, Cali Sportsman'zz. Is the width at the front axle carrier narrower than the Sprints Plus?

Oh, BTW... the Image Police will be along shortly.

The Track owner didn't know if it was available or not, you would have to call or email DRS.

The Front uprights are narrower than the sprint plus chassis.

I just liked the way they designed the torsion front end.

I'm pretty sure...that DRS is no longer in business. The last time they updated their website was in 2004. www.slotcar.com is the website.
I downloaded the catalog and did not see the chassis above. They were obviously mostly involved with Drag Racing.

I know that there is a spring car chassis kit available from JK Products at this time for $22.00.

Here is a photo of the assembled chassis:

Marty, JK has (or did have) a spring steel sprint chassis with a full cage too. It's been in the closeout section for a few months so perhaps they're gone. As for the DRS chassis Rhett showed, it's design would make a neat brass/wire build.

Bill,

Putting one together from brass and wire would be pretty simple and should work at least as good, if not better then that one.

I see a piece of 3/32 tubing with a piece of .0625 wire as the hinge, then a couple of limiting wires to control the amount of deflection. Of course I woule use a hypoid bracket to get the motor as low as possible. I think it would work quite well.

One of my 'shelved' projects was building a sprint chassis to fit under a body my friend formed. I might just have to resurrect that project and build something to see how it works.

Ahhh, another cool project coming right up!

I got one of the JK chassis kits and the instructions were a joke. Jeff Easterly loaned me an assembled one and I can now see how the pieces go together. By adding some piano wire roll bar pieces it makes a nice build. I'l be trying to clean Jeff's car up and post some pictures. With the JK bodies painted up it should be a great looking car.

Is it this one? I borrowed the pic as mine is still in the box.
