United we stand and divided we fall, the Legends are complete.
I'm racing the best here at BP but Father time is much better then all of us united.

Eliminate all motors. Tie a string onto the front of the cars. Pull the cars around the track like little kids do with their pull toys.

You would still be in the A Main... and on the podium.Simple solution:
Eliminate all motors. Tie a string onto the front of the cars. Pull the cars around the track like little kids do with their pull toys.

They are so "equal"... only one is needed.
Most manufacturing tollerance is 2 deviations from the mean. 95% of the motors will fall in that catagory and have similar performance. That is probably fine for racing on a flat track? On a King everyone is looking for the 3 deviation motor or at minimum the higher end 95%er, but you know that based on the wink. The motors wouldn't cost $10 if closer tollerance were required.
Standard Deviation
BTW: Same manufacturing tollerance of acceptability is probably used on the Pro-Slot motors also?

So, for a simple reason of courtesy and fairness to our visitors, that's the way it will be handled, everyone treated the same.
If I was going to a race in a different state, I would appreciate to be treated the same way.

Philippe, you did say they were gonna be welded and SPECIALLY MARKED,,,
that way a person could have his (sh#t) stuff ready the morning of,instead of having to thrash that morn,,,
and still write down the # of motors a person buys so he can only buy 5,,they'd (BPR) have a much better chance at selling 4 or 5 to each guy, trying for that "elite 5%, of the quikers motor if ya bought 4 or 5 over a 3 day period leading to Can AM Race day, that way the out of towners can get their motors early too and test that week,,JMO ok

So tell me why is it so?
I can dig up some threads that will prove the point, maybe the magic point is motors because that will stir up the audience?
Nesta
PS I know Mike S point of using a string is excellent. Thanks Mike I was giggling all day long on that comment.

That would have to be handout string! It's the only way you could ensure everybody gets the same length of string & the same weight. Afterall, you can't have people running cars on a roll of dental floss!
I'm sure Paul and Philippe would be more than able to tech strings with their calipers

We are too poor in California to afford tape.
And the tape tax is excessive!!!

I have been following along as most have. I saw nowhere that it mandated 5 motors, it was offered as an option. One could go, enter and only purchase one motor if economics dictated such.Easy to wonder off target Nesta. Rabbit trails happen. My point being that its to everyone's benefit to attract more racers by making it more affordable this making it more competitive. IMO 3 motors is playing with a more practical playing field. When $$ get involved instead of fun, then priorities are out of place.
But in closing, a traveling racer, buying 60 bucks worth of motors would be but a miniscule expense in retrospect of the costs to attend the event. To each his own.............
