Hi, I have a beautiful Revell 1/24 MONACO Home Raceway that unfortunatly is missing it's original paperwork. I've added a Revell Owners Book but I don't believe it's "correct" for this set. So, I'm looking for any and all paperwork to complete this set (correct Owners Manual, individual layout diagram, Warranty card, etc).
I also added a scanned copy of the layout from a Revell catalog but it's difficult to determine assembly as it uses both 14" & 21" radius curve sections.
It also needs; one set of straight transitions, one 14" inner guardrail, one 14"curve track section and one 14" outer guardrail. Last, I need and orange controller (I've substituted a red one, temporarily) to match the orange Lotus 30.
I notice, too that the chassis are different in the set cars (silver Porsche and orange Lotus) as opposed to the kit cars and that the tire sizes are also different. Regular Revell "rear tires" are too large. The wheels on the Lotus are 1/24th on the rear and 1/32nd on the front, I think.
Any one have any thoughts on that towards locating correct tires?
Thanks to all that stopped by and Merry Christmas!

Very nice set Dean and one of the best layouts Revell offered in my opinion. I've always wanted one of these sets myself.

Enjoy and good luck with your search. I have several of the Lotus' and the original rears on my need new rubber as well. Please post here if you find suitable replacements.

I'm not sure if the home set cars and the commercial cars have the same wheels, but a while ago I built up one of the Lotus body kits that came with wheel inserts. I used the correct 1/32 chassis and front wheels and the 1/24 wide rear wheels( R4311:70) that I got on epay. These are all 5/40 threaded. I have been using these rear wheels on all the 1/24 Revells sports cars. I just checked the Lotus and found that I had streched a set of Cox 1/24 rear rubber tires on the rims. These might be just as hard to find and some may be dried out too ! The chapparal ones have the largest hole but the others will stretch if they aren't too dried out.I also built up the 1/24 Ferrari 250 GTO and cut a set of closed cell foam tires for the same rims. I found the foam rubber better for the Revell track , the mechanical rubber seems to work better on Strombecker track which is rougher.

Gary,
The cars in the racing set have a plastic chassis with an inline FT16 motor, later a sidewinder FT16, but the wheels are the same as on the car kits.

The rear wheels that came with (some) of the sports car kits are less than 1/4" wide and take Revell R3473:50 tires. If these are the ones for the home set Lotus ,then Monogram SR1002/69 tires may work. These are 1 &1/16 O.D. The wide rear wheels I bought seperatly R3411:70 are over 3/8" wide and these will take the Cox rear tires. This is the correct #! I got the number mixed up in my earlier post. Gb

Nice set.

BTW, the Lotus is a 23, not a 30.

The track you got is a sweet one, I got the cheap one simple figure eight with a Corvette and a Ferrari and I remember every time I set it up on the living
room the track connectors broke. :shok:
The plastic was not that good for assy over and over it cracked and the tabs broke of.

Thanks Gary and also to all others that added a reply.
The Revell R3473:50 tires are bigger in diameter than the tires on my MONACO set cars.
Again, they are the cars that would come with the set originally and not built up "kit" cars. Actually, the bodies and chassis mount differently, too than those that have a kit-car chassis.
I'll try attaching a couple extra pics to show what I mean...
All four tires on the Porsche are the same size, but smaller in diameter than the Revell R3473. The Lotus rear tires are smaller than the 4-Porsche's tires and the front tires on the Lotus are smaller yet.
I believe the Lotus tires may be 1/32 scale tires in actuality. I also note that the front wheels are smaller in diameter than the Lotus rear wheels...
Anyone out there have this set by any chance, that has its original paperwork?
Thanks again and Merry Christmas!

The Lotus front wheels and tires are 1/32. Maybe the rear tires on the Lotus 23 are front tires from a different car like the Lotus Ford Grand Prix car which uses smaller front tires. I'm pretty sure there is very little clearance in the body since I had to sand mine down to size. The instructions maybe on the VSRN site. Gb
