During much of the "dark ages" when P wasn't racing, womps were often the only rtr a track had that they could sell to a newcomer.
Or a kid.
Virtually every track had a womp and modified womp program.
In fact, Parma had a kit for I think 25bucks that was a womp, spare body a few tools and an appropriate Sebring controller and a box.
