With the second Annual Checkpoint Cup ready to start this Friday (Jan. 8), I decided to make available a new photo book about the Inaugural race held last January. I've been working on the book on and off ever since last year's race.
This photo book is basically a hardcover version of the photo report I posted on Phanfare for last year's race.
For those of you who like to have hardcover books and not just the online experience, here's your opportunity to own an 8" x 10", 78 page, 172 photo (color) version with wraparound photo cover. This book has photos of every race (and racer) with each race result and "every" podium. Also included are close up photos of the winning car for each "A" Main race.
By the way, a big thank you to Kathy Mitome (Slotblog's "Flygirl") for the backcover artwork.
I tried to keep the cost down, but it's not cheap ($41.95, not including tax, shipping costs). The cost includes $4 profit which will be used to help pay for some of the online costs I pay for Phanfare, SoCal D3.com and related reporting/webcasting expenses. I enjoy doing the online reports, but I think it's time for others to help pay for some of the costs so I can continue to do the online reporting.
Here's the website to preview/order the book:
The Inaugural Checkpoint Cup 2009 book
To preview the book, click on the link above. Next click on the "preview book". You can then click on the "full screen" button near the top right of the screen. Next, click on the page shown to go to the next page. The preview shows a few pages of the book. The online preview images are not as sharp as the book.
I will have a few copies for sale at the Checkpoint Cup, but the book can be ordered at any time.
Thanks for your support,
Keith

In this bright future you can't forget your past.
BMW (Bob Marley and the Wailers)
United we stand and divided we fall, the Legends are complete.
I'm racing the best here at BP but Father time is much better then all of us united.
Not a snob in this hobby, after all it will be gone, if we keep on going like we do, and I have nothing to prove so I keep on posting because I have nothing to gain.
It's our duty to remember the past so we can have a future.
Pistol Pete you will always be in my memory.
