Like the inaugural event, the races were tightly contested and a lot of fun!
There's a lot of people to thank for their work and support. I will be posting a thank you later today to those individuals as well as our sponsors who donated to this year's Checkpoint.
A big thank you to Lenore Gallegos for hosting this second annual event at BPR. Lenore, thanks for the pizza on Friday and the lunch on Saturday.
The full race/photo report will be posted either tonight or tomorrow. There's hundreds of photos to process!
A special thank you to Greg "Cheater" Wells for his work on the live webcast. Although we experienced some "technical difficulties" during the webcast because of the slow internet connection, we worked the problems as a team. We both learned from each other, just like racers helping one another to improve their game. I am looking forward to working with Cheater again in the future. We both agree that using the live webcast to broadcast slot car racing events is a good way to promote this great hobby.
Congratulations to all the podium winners. Thanks to all the racers for their participation.

As for Keith, with all his arranging stuff, setting things up, taking photos, troubleshooting the internet with Cheater, and racing, I don't see how he got any report out today. Amazing.
It was a fun weekend. Many thanks to Keith, Paul, Rick Salvino, Mike ?, and all the other locals who helped set things up and keep things moving.
Also, thanks very much to Greg (Cheater) for all of his time and efforts. First time I met him, he's very friendly and helpful.

Hey, Tony!Hey Noose won concours in every class.
So... you expected anything less out of Joe???
Next big race, he gets to paint with a brush, up-side down, in a dark room, with one eye closed...
That'll even-up the concours playing field, eh?
Great work, Joe... Beautiful cars...
Congratulations!

I'm racing the best here at BP but Father time is much better then all of us united.
Not a snob in this hobby, after all it will be gone, if we keep on going like we do, and I have nothing to prove so I keep on posting because I have nothing to gain.
It's our duty to remember the past so we can have a future.

Hell the guys from your side did really good, just look at Howie and John G. Howie has a lot of talents, have to say I love the man and I always leave with a smile after seeing him. He needs to move to Kali.

I ended up taking second in the E main, but I can't imagine having any more fun if I had been in the A Main. Terry De Los Santos and I had a blast dicing back and forth for the lead.
Congrats to John Gorski, new TQ and winner of the Can-Am. We West Coasters should hang our heads in shame!

Most of all thanks to Richie Austin, who built all of my cars. Let me tell you they were all first class. Look out at the Scale Nats in Virginia for Richie Austin, as we will do whatever it takes to help him be competitive. Look forward to meeting you.
Congrats to all the winners, I think I could have given Gorski a run in Can-am if it wasn't for some bad luck in the 7th heat, but nevertheless great race. Same goes in F1 to Duran, it would have been close, but thats racing and bad luck happens.
Can't wait until next year. What a great event, that nobody should miss.

Nobody should be a shamed because racing is what it is. You got to get lucky sometimes to, otherwise what would be the fun if you won every race?
I'm glad to see the guys who won because they fought hard and fair, but I feel bad for Jonathan. He had some bad luck but he is young and he will kick some butts now or in the future because he is stepping up to the plate and he is way good.

You and your dad did a great job! Just remember, a really great driver and good set-up guy can make any car look good.
Obsessed is the word the lazy use to describe the dedicated.

Steve, I think you and Terry Schmid made a great showing for our track. Next BP event will be even better.I ended up taking second in the E main, but I can't imagine having any more fun if I had been in the A Main. Terry De Los Santos and I had a blast dicing back and forth for the lead.

Thanks Keith and Greg for getting the webcast running so well. Big thanks for Craig Williamson for painting the body that won the "Realistic" Can-Am award.
It was nice seeing so many racers sitting down to a meal at Knott's after the racing. Thanks to the race directors, Lenore for the venue and lunch, and all the sponsors for providing some cool stuff for us.
What a fun time!

I had the time of my slot life at this event. I first got there at 5 AM Thurs and found a couple of guys camped out outside the back door. I thought that I recognized them from previously reported events on Slotblog, but found out differently.
It was great mixing with everyone over the next several days.
