is there going to be a beginner class? I plan on racing but am concerned as I cant turn marshal, I am having knee surgery on the 15th, so mobility might be limited. I would really like to race!

I was pretty skeptical about this class but the race I saw ended with close competition and veteran racers and rookies had a good time.

OK, please tell me these numbers are for the body off the car...

Also, are the kool kidz these days cutting off the front, the rear, some of each? When I did these ten years ago, we just did the front. The cars at the last race had some cut off the front, some cut off the rear, some looked like both ends.

I just picked up a chassis kit to abuse you with... :D

I'm going to pin this thread so the rules can be more easily found.

Rick et al, please let me know if the rules in post #1 need any updates and I'll make them for you.

Out of curiosity, what are you running for spec tires?

At PCH we run the Koford M472 WH tires. At BP they run an Alpha 611-WR tire.

OK Gents, I cleaned up the thread from un-necessary verbiage, added the info and answers to questions on the specs, all we need now is to know which tires are the "spec tires" and we are done. :)

you pay a fee of 10 dollar to place bid and you must sell the car if you hawe a bid on the car
the bid fee goes to the club or track

i hawe a frend that hawe too sell hiss car for 100 dollar and only the engine was at least priced at 1000 dollar ...
the idiot has put in a super good engine in his crap class car...
i think it costed him at lesast 500 dollar to get the car back ....the engine was his father....
If cars were built to fly... they will have wings...

SPEC TIRES?....gasp :shok:

Won't this force the racers into owning multiple chassis and different set-ups, as I have been told? :laugh2: :laugh2:

Thanx for pointing that out,we actually wrote the rules and started the class, not started the class then wrote the rules, so we did not realize that the motors where going to be dead. but thanx and we will edit that part out also. Randy..

OK how come when I read these rules it specifies the O/S 030 Vette body YET all the race reports and pics show everyone using the O/S 052/057 Viper bodies?

What is the legal body to be used in this class???

Ron, I have always wondered why the rules have the Vette part #. At the races they enforce a Viper only body rule.

OK how come when I read these rules it specifies the O/S 030 Vette body YET all the race reports and pics show everyone using the O/S 052/057 Viper bodies?

What is the legal body to be used in this class???

OK The Viper Numbers are.....

052 Viper with no rib long version with molded in diaplane

057 Viper with no rib short.

Both are identical except the short version does not have the molded in "hump" and diaplane.

Thanx Ron, not sure where "vette" came from, perhaps when Lenore took the rough rules scribled on a piece of papper and typed them up on the computer, it may have been added, it was always supposed to be a unribbed viper. We started allowing ribbed vipers when the track owners told us they could not get any unribbed vippers a few months ago. Any how we'll get the "vette" outa there and the claimer rule since the motors are done after one race anyway. Randy..
