Slot car is the Strombecker dirt car that has had a few modifications.
Truck can pull trailer down the track with ease. This set is from the 1960s .
I also picked up his wood box with thirteen handbuilt cars. All are hand painted, too. Box has outstanding artwork. I will post later when I get time.
Hope you like it.
Best Regards,
Don

Hey, it's mine... my name is on the door!
"Drive it like you're in it!!!"
"If everything feels under control... you are not going fast enough!"
Some people are like Slinkies... they're really good for nothing... but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.

That's an awesome display and the condition of these cars is very nice.
I would like to say Mr. French is or was a excellent painter. Love that you are showing this and I'm sweet on those dirt cars.

In this bright future you can't forget your past.
BMW (Bob Marley and the Wailers)
United we stand and divided we fall, the Legends are complete.
I'm racing the best here at BP but Father time is much better then all of us united.
Not a snob in this hobby, after all it will be gone, if we keep on going like we do, and I have nothing to prove so I keep on posting because I have nothing to gain.
It's our duty to remember the past so we can have a future.
Pistol Pete you will always be in my memory.

A real beauty .
Can you imagine a young lad of say between 14 and 20 sitting down and doing something like that today . It took a lot of imagination, skill, and talent to create such a rig. Soldering, cutting, painting, lettering, wiring, drilling, and on and on. As well as the use of a plethora of tools. Somehow getting high score on an X-Box game does not compare. It's sad that this has been lost, but the legacy of great creations lives here on the Blog and in numerous collections.

Really nice pictures!
NOW! you must show us the chassis in the other post from Mr. French as my guess was correct, the chassis of the truck is very interesting. The Dynamic bits are not even fastened to the motor, looks to me like it's screwed to the bottom of the interior of the truck and then the motor doesn't even have a gear? It appears from this angle of the photo the tires are threaded directly onto the motor shaft?
I also like the moving back of the guide flag on the sprint car, he kept it tucked under the body.
Thanks for sharing!

I believe the truck body and trailer are from an AMT kit. I think it was 1961 when AMT included that trailer with both the Ford and Chevy pickups.
I intend to live forever! So far, so good.
