The problem with using a die is getting the threads square in relation to the base of the guide; if it's not square, the guide nut will not be square on the chassis tongue.

Save yourself some effort and expense by purchasing the new Sprays by Mac guide threader- it is truly a joy to use.

Shonel posted a pic about it on Slotblog... when they are done moving to their new location I am sure they'd be happy to sell you one or give you the details you need.

Excellent tool. Don't waste time trying a die. Mac's threader does the job! I got mine some time ago. It cuts the Redfox guides beautifully.
