As I point out in the Webcasting forum, one of the hardest parts of this streaming deal is getting the camera position right. Mike's positioning isn't perfect but it isn't bad at all. Maybe one of these days we'll have access to inexpensive webcams with zoom, which would make it a lot easier to optimize the views.

Remember, two wrongs don't make a right... but three lefts do! Only you're a block over and a block behind.

Greg- Video is great !! You can't understand what the race director is saying but you can here people talking clear by the camera .Think if there was a speaker by camera for the race director you could understand him better? Just a thought !! Sure is neat though..JerryYeah, when Mike and I were viewing the test stream the other night, the quality was better than any of the streams I've done previously.

I totally agree! It is so inspiring, gonna be able to watch some serious racing!
The cam sound is probably just great but the the speaker attached to Mic is what sounds bad. It's probably one of the PA horn types and sounds just like that in the raceway

Try toning the volume down on the PA system a little. The camera mic is so sensitive a loud PA overloads it. Shoot for a balance where the PA is just loud enough for the people in the room and it'll probably sound better on the webcast.
This is my last post for the weekend, as we're hitting road for the drive to the Amelia Island Concours in a few moments. Attending the concours is my present to myself for having to miss the R4/3.

Mike, what is your upload internet speed at Tom Thumb? What type/make is the webcam your using?
Very nice webcast video quality.
Keith
Keith.
My upload speed averages only about 300K thanks to ATT DSL. If I can get cable in here without paying for "business class" (10x the cost)the video will be much better. I just have to find the "right" guy to talk to. The camera is a Logitech 9000 which is the same camera, I think, that Cheater has been using.

That's about the same upload speed that BPR has. How far is the Logitech 9000 located from your PC (laptop?)?Keith.

Hopefully, some day in the future BPR will get a faster upload internet service which would allow us to broadcast two uStream channels at the same time. That would provide our viewers with a track view as well as a race monitor view without having to switch between webcams.
Thanks for providing the webcast, it's much appreciated!

Thanks Keith. I appreciate the compliment. Being a USB device the camera is limited to a 16' cable without a booster. I am using one booster which allows me to be 32' from my laptop. Hopefully you can get BPR up and running. There is alot of us that would love to watch.
