Friday night after the GT Coupe class was over we held a quick race for the R&C Jaildoor F1 cars. It was an "unofficial" race and the entry fee was just a promise to have fun. We had seven cars entered with Noose having two of his cars represented as Ray C. was driving a loaner. I only mention this because, like any other car owner, Noose kept the fast car for himself. :laugh2:

The racing was different to what we are used to in IRRA retro racing. These cars are considered by many to be the "real" retro cars. Maybe....but they sure were fun to watch and they are very nice to look at as the bodies are gorgeous.

I just took delivery of two Jail Door bodies that I bought from Noose because of this race. I will be in it next year. :dance4:

Great... :D

They are fun.

I think you will see many more at the R4 next year. Several guys had frames in their box, but didn't participate.

Perhaps we could even do a jail door sports car exhibition next year...

Thanks to Noose and Tony P. for getting the class going.

Kinda funny to me anyway...During the warm-ups I leaned over and asked Matt Bruce,"Are you punching the bank?" Yep! sure am Matt replied, I hear Larry saying "NO,you best not!"

During the race Larry passed us all through the bank and laffed the whole time when saying "I punched the bank"

I did run my JD Sports car during practice and Matt ran it. It really worked well there. Those bilstering 6.5s we were turning (vs. 4.8s with our Can-Am cars) were making our heads spin.:laugh2:

Chris Radisich told me not to punch the bank, and I always listen to what Chris says... ;) Plus, R-Geo Rick said he wouldn't rebuild the beast, if I crashed it... :laugh2: During the race I saw everyone else punching the bank, so I figured 'why not'?

Running the jail doors is like racing vintage 1:1 cars...

Shows how far we have come.

I venture to say it was a combination of Blue Moon and paint fumes doing that. :laugh2:
