Who manufactured this wheel, and what is it a replica of?

Thanks.

That looks like the Mags made by Revell. If you look at the inside of the Revell, there is a boss or flange with grooves in it. This will be the determining factor. Revell sold wheels and other parts separately, as aftermarket items.

PS: these may have been on some of the RTR cars similar to the Ford GT roadster. The one I got has the so-called Cobra wheels which were made at the same time period by Revell.

I believe it's a Halibrand replica. Is that hub threaded? I got a pair of similar looking Dynamics.

Gary is correct, it is a Revell wheel of course. The wheel is not really a replica of anything, as the Halibrand had a different design. It is SIMILAR to some of the Halibrand models, but far from being an exact copy.

These Revell aluminum wheels existed in various width, the front ones being free wheeling, the rear wheels always threaded and available in three different width. All their 1967 1/24 scale line were fitted with these wheels. They were all cast in late 1966 and no longer produced by mid-1967.

The "other" Revell wheel model was patterned after a Shelby Cobra wheel and existed in the same widths and some were also issued on their 1967 kits and RTR models. You can see one of these kits HERE.

As always, great replies...thanks for the info.

Now to find some rear wheels and knock-offs to match the fronts.

I've noticed the knockoffs for the Revell fronts, were a blind hole, not drilled through, which makes them unusual. Not sure about the rear ones?
