It is now official! The details for the 2nd race of the Smoky Mtn Retro Association have now been finalized! We will be racing at Thunder Road Raceway in Cleveland, TN! The race will be on Saturday June 26th. The track will open at 7am.

After talking to the track owner Bart. We have decided to run the stock cars at this race as well since there will be more interest locally. So the lineup will be:

Race 1 - Stock Cars on the Kingleman

Race 2 - Flexi-GT on the Kingleman

Race 3 - Can-Am on the Kingleman

Pit pass $5 Entry fee: Enter one race $10, two races $20, three races $25!

Track will open at 7am

Tech for first race closes at 10am. Hope to see you there! Check back for updates as we will be working diligently to provide you with the best day of racing money can buy!

For those who don't know, Bart the track owner at Thunder Road, recently had some health problems. I talked to him today and all is good. The race is on! So, we will be updating all of the race info very often. Hope to see you there!

I am sure between Bart, Roger Holtsclaw and I we should have all the Retro items you could need. Of course we want you to buy from Bart's stock at the track first.

Thanks Rick, Yeah i cant wait. I drove 4 hours sunday just 2 race at Raceworld and pick cars up 2 race there. i could use 2 of them TSR motor if u have them.

Joe McIntosh and TVRP (Terminal Velocity Racing Products) have once again graciously agreed to sponsor the concourse awards. There will be awards for Best Appearing and Most Realistic in all three classes. Joe is himself a great painter and chassis builder and is available for hire!

Noose Custom Paints will be providing a hand painted interior for a prize drawing. Noose is a very accomplished painter and is also available for hire! Also, anyone who wins a race in a Noose Custom Painted body will receive one free entry into a future SMRA event!

Any racer who wins with a R-Geo Samurai chassis will receive a free entry into a future SMRA event!

Andrews Construction will once again be sponsoring the TQ award for each division. $10 worth of race parts from SMRA for TQ in each race!

Eagle Distributing, slot car parts supplier from Enid, OK, has donated door prizes for this weekends SMRA event!

HRE (Holtsclaw Racing Enterprises) will be providing an SMRA hat for the racer who turns the fastest lap on Black lane in the Stock Car event!


HRE will also provide an SMRA hat for the racer who turns the fastest lap on Red in the Flexi-GT event!

Ralph Thorne Racing will once again be providing plaques for SMRA #2. Ralph does great work! We recommend that if you promote a race or have a track, that you give Ralph a call, you won't be sorry!

Race #2 went well this weekend at Bart's Thunder Road Raceway in Cleveland, TN. Turn-out was below what we expected but I think all the racers had a good time.

Roger will be posting the results as soon as he get a chance so I won't list who won each class.
