Looks like it might be.. I have one of those started but could never find the right set of wheels.
I will be watching your beautiful work very closely.

The Lindberg model has the fin, the Merit model does not. Both are "short-nose" D-Types.
The Merit kit was widely used in early slot car racing since there were few other bodies available in the 1/24 scale. The third one in this equation is the Strombecker, also a static kit (albeit motorized as was the Lindberg), also without fin as the Merit.
The Lindberg body was of course used in what is truly the first 1/24 scale RTR slot car ever produced, the Unique Jaguar.

The back of car magazines in the 50 and 60s always had a Merit ad, that I DREAMED about. I could get the strombeckers at my local small town hobby shop and they were the source for my first cars in 59. And I did, though strange ways, aquire the Alfetta and maserati 250F. But most eluded me.
You should understand that in Rural New Mexico, I had no contact with european racing. I had no idea what the cars actually DID, but the shapes were so beautiful that I was in love.

Remember, two wrongs don't make a right... but three lefts do! Only you're a block over and a block behind.
