Hi,

OK, at Philippe's request here is my simple proposal.

We allow actual surviving Jail Doorr race cars to race with the modern Retro Jail Door cars. The format is simple, either a known survivor OR a replica of one.

Modern untreated rubber may be used on period rims as long as they meet the period sizes.

Modern motors are limited to 65t/30 turn 16Ds with ceramic magnets like the Kelly/SpeedFX 16D for '66-early '67 cars. Late '67/early '68 cars are limited to the similar Super 16Ds with 28 winds/ceramic magnets.

Run under a handicap to be determined on the track by the race director based on testing the best car. For instance, if the current car does 4.2 and the best replica does a 5 flat then this would suggest an "ideal" 42 laps per heat for the modern car and 36 for the replica. All replicas, even the slower ones get a 6 lap advantage.

Yes, this does favor the replicas.

To make things totally clear, I only requested the opening of a thread discussing Jail Door rules if someone would like changes, so that the Terry Schmid car thread would stay focused.
Phat chance of course... :)
