Each year the German Neumünster club host a 5l race for 1/24 Porsche 917 and Ferrari 512 cars. Last year Team Neckcheese Racing entered a 917 Martini Porsche 917K and this year we enter the extremely beautiful 1970 Martini Hippie langheck:

Both the body and chassis are a co-prodution between the famouse German builder Fola and myself. The chassis is a downscaled and modified version of the NSF-TX LMP/GT chassis and was only ready last week, so time was sparse, but the first test went well and now it is up to the drivers :-)

Thanks, my friend Jan Juul qualified it 8th which was outstanding as it was only our 2nd outing on this difficult track and we did not have much experince in this sort of racing. However we were not able to hold up the speed and ended 16th from 33 starters which was an improvement from last years 22nd place.
My body earned 20 Concours points (out of 20) which equaled 20 laps in this race.

The new Fola NSF917 chassis was a dream to drive and would have placed much better with better drivers who knew the tricky track better.

Pic: I helped with the development of the chassis which was designed especially for the Porsche 917

Pic: I am strugling with the lights installation - there was also lights in the instrument panel and the extra instrument on the dashboard :-)

I got the parts for the chassis 8-9 days before the race, had to countersink holes, tap other holes etc etc and assemble the parts and the bodies.
Was able to test it wednesday, just two days before the race. The setup I had done worked as a dream and we only tested motors and gears - and the car drove like a dream.

In Germany the Porsche 917 Langheck body in known to be tricky to drive on this track and we DID have problems in overtaking etc, but the car both handled and looked wonderful on the track, especially in the night session where the id- and number-light were very visible.

So I can highly recommend the chassis and body (also from Fola) for future Scale-racers :-)

Next task for it is the Danish Classic champs on sept. 26th on my home track

We got 20 concours points for the car which is maximum and the car looked splendid on the track - and in the 2 night stint the car was easily recognisabel due to the id- and number lights :-)

My friend Jan placed the car 8th in qualification (33 starters) which was impressive at it was only our second start at this demanding track.

In the race we placed 16th which is 6 places better than last year. We were satisfied as we have not much experience of the track and as this kind of racing is not yeat very popular in Denmark.
