Thanks, my friend Jan Juul qualified it 8th which was outstanding as it was only our 2nd outing on this difficult track and we did not have much experince in this sort of racing. However we were not able to hold up the speed and ended 16th from 33 starters which was an improvement from last years 22nd place.
My body earned 20 Concours points (out of 20) which equaled 20 laps in this race.
The new Fola NSF917 chassis was a dream to drive and would have placed much better with better drivers who knew the tricky track better.
Pic: I helped with the development of the chassis which was designed especially for the Porsche 917
Pic: I am strugling with the lights installation - there was also lights in the instrument panel and the extra instrument on the dashboard :-)
I got the parts for the chassis 8-9 days before the race, had to countersink holes, tap other holes etc etc and assemble the parts and the bodies.
Was able to test it wednesday, just two days before the race. The setup I had done worked as a dream and we only tested motors and gears - and the car drove like a dream.
In Germany the Porsche 917 Langheck body in known to be tricky to drive on this track and we DID have problems in overtaking etc, but the car both handled and looked wonderful on the track, especially in the night session where the id- and number-light were very visible.
So I can highly recommend the chassis and body (also from Fola) for future Scale-racers :-)
Next task for it is the Danish Classic champs on sept. 26th on my home track
