Expected mid-September is another variation of the Fujimi Porsche 917K 1/24 static model kits originally issued in 2004/2005.

The new version will feature a sheet of photo etch details and decals by Cartograf.

It would appear as the first in this series will be the 1971 Sebring 12 hour winner liveried in "martini and rossi" deco.

It had been rumored that the next 917 in the series would be the 1971 long tail or langheck but it would seem that kit has either been delayed or canceled.

The "deluxe" version would appear to be marked up about us$ 5.00 from the standard kits which is certainly cheaper than purchasing the photo etch and decals separately.

Excellent, this could be good for the Bordeaux vintage meeting next year. The theme is sebring and Daytona. Modern static kits are allowed as they are deemed to be in the spirit of the event as it's the sort of thing we did in the 60's.

Cheers

DC685C Studio 27 Decal LeMans 1970 #18 David Piper Sandeman
FP2473 Studio 27 P/E Porsche 917K Detail Set

Of course other companies make decal sets, etc for the 1/24 917 but these are the ones I know of that are specific to the Fujimi kit.

Some of the Studio 27 decal sets include numbers, etc. for other versions as a bonus. Some of the kits and accessories are no longer in production but may still be in stock at your favorite retailer. No prices were given due to the effect on price of currency exchange rates, etc.

Fujimi's 917K 1/24 static kit will be reissued early first quarter 2015. Typically Japanese made reissues either aren't imported into North America or imported in small quantities. The good news is the US Dollar to JPY exchange rate is very favorable at the moment. If you are interested, I'd advise a pre-order with your favorite Japanese model shop.

This kit is a great basis for a slot car and there are a number of alternate decal decorations from many sources that can be used with it.

Rumor has it this is the last release before the tooling is modified to create a 917LH kit probably in 2016.

I am new to the non slot racing thread. Just to say the Fujimi 917 kits especially for the 1971 car do not have the wider tail section. I do know that it its is produced as a resin aftermarket part.

Speaking of the Fujimi 917- I see that the reissues mentioned above are now available in the "usual suspect" Japanese hobby shops.
