From what Paul Sterrett mentioned to me when we started these demo races, he said that trimming down worn D3 treated tires (less than .812") to .790" or less would probably remove most of the treated part of the tire. Thus, a trimmed-down JK treated tire will have more grip than it had originally.

He missed 1/2 a heat while I ran.... (OK.. trotted) to the counter to get a set of Koford SB II motor brushes to put in and get him back in the race. If this was not a round robin he would have missed more than a 1/2 a heat as he was off while I fixed the problem.
We had 2 new chassis in the race as well. John Cukras showed up with his new chassis/ car. It looked neat as always and he used some of Dennis's Love Lotion to improve the bite. Hector had a neat little chopped up Whomp chassis (steel) We gave him a 1 race pass and I told him I would give him a old brass Thumper chassis I had so he could build another like it for future races.

The fast cars didn't race Saturday. The track wasn't slower. If Craig's anglewinder didn't have some problems during the race, he would have won easily.I was looking for Phil Nyland's car to whip out another 4.7 on the Flat Track. He was absent this race, but what's Phil got in that rig? 5.0's this time around only. Was the track not as fast this race? A little dirty?

Keith I do think the track was slower because of the temp last Saturday was at least 10 degrees hotter than it has been..... Don't you?? It seemed all the cars were a little loose on Black especially. (for the most part our fastest lane... most days) Look how much tire John ran! I have never had that much tire on any of my cars. I really think it was a 1/10 or so slower because of the HEAT.
It's a good thing we did not race yesterday as So Cal had RECORD temps all over! It was way over the 100 mark were my wife works down by the beach and 111 here!
