This is so coooooool!!! Can´t wait to see the pictures of the coming steps. Keep us informed.
If I look at this chassis, I can feel, hear and smell the '60s.
It's a dreamcatcher!
Keep on building!!

I love to experiment with these chassis, but with a max chassis width of 30mm there is not much room for advanced things.
My last chassis, The McLaren M7A, which had an iso hinge was sold to a good friend who was crazy about the looks and the handling of it, so therefore i had to build a new one for myself. This time I decided to go back to the roots with a drop arm chassis.
I have just finished the chassis, but will return with more Pics and "test report" as work progresses.
As to how the different chassis handles compared to each other - I haven't got a clue - meaning that sometimes two different chassis runs the same lap times, but one feels more stable or the opposite as the other. I often pick the one that feels most stable or less nervous.
My favourite chassis is the plumber chassis which I built almost two years ago. This is still in my two-car stable and have won a lot of races.

I have mounted a very light weight HowmetTX BRM H16 body on the chassis. The wheel inserts are my own resin "eagle" inserts. Decals are my own, also :-)
The Lotus is also a HowmetTX body with my own decals.
The BRM will be tested at the 5th round of the Danish 1/24 Retro F1 championship this sunday. I am leading the champs after 4 rounds and cannot be reached :-) - so i'l be national champ for the second year in row :-)

Have to say I'm so happy that slot car racing is well and doing well in Denmark.

I'm racing the best here at BP but Father time is much better then all of us united.
Not a snob in this hobby, after all it will be gone, if we keep on going like we do, and I have nothing to prove so I keep on posting because I have nothing to gain.
It's our duty to remember the past so we can have a future.

Last year we were allowed to use foam tires along with the original rubber tires, and my experience was that the cars had to be heavier to really take advantage of the increased grip, especially on wooden tracks. Also both my current cars are pretty long, having wheelbases of 100 and 105mm respectively, so i opted for a shorter and comparatively heavy chassis this time.
I have built an ISO chassis before, this is now owned and raced by my friend, Jan, and as the car is performing very well, I decided to try this layout again.
The chassis has a built in hinge in the front of the 1" straight JK motor bracket, allowing the sidepans and front wheels to move freely in reltion to the chassis center part which accomodates the guide and motor bracket.
The sidepans is made of brass strips, 3 x 1,5mm, lined with 1,8mm brass rods. This goes back under the motor bracket and soldered, but were cut off before the center section was added. Center section is a guide tongue, 12,7 x 1,6mm, lined with two 1,6mm brass tube on each side.
The motor bracket is reduced in height and the holes enlarged to 6mm.
The front end with body tubes and "drop arm" stop.
The chassis seen from below, avaiting the Lotus 25 body and wheels, motor etc. Our rules allows for a max chassis width of 30mm, so everything has to be very compact
The plan is to have the car running in good time before the next Danish Championship round in Ikast on may, 13th

The chassis above is finished with a Lotus 25 body (Tom Anderson ??) painted in a rather unusual colour. I will test the car on thursday and hopefully it will be ready for the 2nd round of the Danish 1:24 Retro F1 Champs on Sunday.

But the gear ratio was wrong, so I raced (and won) with my Lotus 49 plumber chassis :-)
Sunday (tomorrow) we are racing 2nd round of the Danish Nationals for 1:24 Retro F1 and WP CanAm, so I have changed the gears and will try it again. The Lotus 49 is however hard to match - but lets see :-)

the two CanAm cars are for our White Point CanAm class and have my own resin copies of the German White Point chassis. The German manufacturer of the White Point chassis have stopped production some time ago, so I make a resin copy allowing us to continue with the class.
The cars are pretty simple, but the Black Racegold/Carrera motors are extremely identical in output, so racing is close.
