[Bill Gerhart]

With the GT C Amateur race completed, it was time for the GTC Pro race. Could they break the current track record of 4.12 set last year by Dale Granger ? They came so very close.

With qualifying completed, it was time for the main.

Bobby Davis and Randy Kohr got out front early with Bill Gerhart and Dale Granger in tow. Bobby led by the end of the first segment with Randy in second. Randy took over the lead in the second segment followed by Bill Gerhart , Bobby Davis and Robert Rodgers. Bobby Davis had his motor expire in segment 3, as Randy Kohr continued to lead. By segment 7 , Dale Granger moved in to second followed by Bill Gerhart and Robert Rodgers. Randy went on to win, followed by Dale Granger and Bill Gerhart. Robert Rodgers had a great run to finish 4th followed by Larry Mattingly in 5th. Gary Culy, Rick Bennardo, and Bobby Davis rounded out the field. Randy completed 318 laps to set a new track record for GT Coupes at Gaithersburg. Randy's Skunkworks chassis was powered by a Falcon, geared 8-27, equipped with JK Wonders.

Cool.... would have loved to see Dale driving both of those cars at the same time and still finishing 2nd and 3rd.

Oops, Dale is pretty handy with a controller, not sure how smooth he would be with 2, seems we had a little problem in podium victory lane. I wonder if Dale will want points for 2nd and 3rd.

SORRY bout he podium board mess up ..it gets VERY HECTIC trying to do all the photos there quickly ..i will handle this in a more professional manner at the next race so there is no mistakes ...GARY HIP CULY
